Mr. Victor Macri is the President and CEO of The VMJR Companies and its two subsidiaries: Adirondack Construction
and Sweet Constructors (formerly Sweet Associates). He started his career with a concrete testing laboratory in 1971 and within 18 months had
become branch manager. Impressed by his aggressiveness in problem solving, a Sweet Associates executive hired him. With
the passing of key principals, at both Sweet Associates and Adirondack Construction, he formed The VMJR Companies and
acquired both construction companies in 1991.
Through his leadership and vision, VMJR is the fourth largest construction company in the Capital Region, with over $55
million in sales for 1999. The VMJR Companies have been and continue to be involved in major economic catalyst projects
throughout Upstate New York. Two such projects include the new terminal and concourse work at Albany International
Airport and the new State University of New York at Albany Science and Technology Library, both award winning projects.
Mr. Macri is committed to this region, his industry and his community. He currently serves as a National & Regional
Member for the American Concrete Institute, Eastern Contractors Association of New York, Past Safety
Committee Chairman, and Chairman of the New York State Construction Industry Council. He also previously served on the Cystic
Fibrosis Foundation NE Chapter Board and is an Executive Committee Member of the Glens Falls National Bank Regional
Development Board.
